Firm attorneys lead seminar for school leaders
PROVIDENCE (July 1, 2011) – Attorneys Tim Groves and Matt Plain recently led a seminar designed to help school leaders decide on legal and communications strategies when managing crises.
Groves and Plain, in collaboration with public relations consultant Advocacy Solutions, discussed how school administrators and board members can effectively handle crises with consistent, strategic communications both internally and externally. They also presented on various legal issues relevant to schools, and measures school administrators can adopt – such as personnel polices and student handbooks – to help prevent disputes and lawsuits.
Groves and Plain have served small schools as teachers, administrators, board members and general counsel.
The seminar was part of the Fourth Annual National Small Schools Conference at Falmouth Academy in Falmouth, Mass.
