Firm attorneys lead seminar for school leaders
PROVIDENCE (May 5, 2010) – Attorneys Tim Groves and Matt Plain led a June 17 seminar designed to help school leaders decide whether legal counsel is needed when facing policy issues and other challenges.
School administrators and board members may confront (or even create) legal issues when dealing with curriculum changes, admissions policy modifications, and other issues. The program – entitled “When Do I Call My Attorney” – helped small school administrators and board members assess whether they should seek legal counsel when tackling various challenges.
Groves and Plain both have served small schools as teachers, administrators, board members and general counsel. They offered pragmatic advice to help school leaders use legal counsel effectively and judiciously.
The seminar is part of the Third Annual National Small Schools Conference at Falmouth Academy in Falmouth, Mass.
