PROVIDENCE (June 14, 2010) – Taylor Duane Barton & Gilman has been ranked third in the small company category of the Providence Business News’ 2010 Best Places to Work competition.

The publication unveiled the ranking at its Best Places to Work gala event held June 10 at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, R.I. Over 400 people attended the lively celebration honoring the 35 companies named as top places to work.

This marks the third year in a row Taylor Duane has been named as a top place to work in Rhode Island, and it has steadily moved up in the rankings finishing 10th in 2008 and 7th last year. The business journal ranked companies in three categories depending on the number of individuals they employ in Rhode Island. Eleven companies were honored in the small company category, which encompassed businesses with 15-to-49 employees.

A record number of employers participated in this year’s competition, according to the Providence Business News. The organizations were judged on responses to both an extensive management report and an employee survey. The resulting data were compiled by Best Companies, an independent research organization based in Harrisburg, Pa., which then chose the winners.
