Firm attorneys lead employment law seminar for business leaders
PROVIDENCE (Sept. 10, 2010) – Sheri L. Pizzi, Angela L. Carr and Andrew C. Coulam recently led an employment law seminar designed to help business leaders assess risks in the workplace and implement policies designed to avoid liability.
The full-day program covered a broad array of topics, including:
• hiring and firing employees in the current economy;
• employee privacy rights in the workplace;
• a summary of recent changes to the ADA and FMLA; and
• an overview of the new health care reform law.
Ms. Pizzi, a partner at the firm, is an experienced litigator and employment law attorney who regularly advises employers on a wide range of legal issues in the workplace. She frequently leads seminars for business professionals on managing employment law risks. Ms. Carr practices in the areas of employment law, business litigation and insurance coverage law. She recently led a full-day seminar on the pending health care reform legislation that will impact nearly every employer. Mr. Coulam litigates employment law matters, and has participated as a panelist at several professional education programs on employment law and risk management.
The Oct. 26 seminar took place at The Hotel Providence in downtown Providence.
